THE JOURNEY OF ELIAS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL: A CHRONICLE OF GROWTH AND EXCELLENCE

History of Elias International Nursery and Primary School
The story of Elias International School began in 1989 as a technical school, marking the modest inception of a remarkable journey that would see the institution evolve and grow over the subsequent decades.

On January 8, 1991, the school opened an important new chapter by establishing its Nursery and Primary section at Ile-Epo, Oke-Odo. The section launched with seven pioneer pupils—three boys and four girls—under the guidance of its first two teachers, Mr. Adu and Miss Annie. As a burgeoning beacon of learning, the school was guided by three foundational pillars:

  1. Foundational Development:To provide early learners with a rigorous and rock-solid educational foundation.
  2. Holistic Growth:To offer parents a premier opportunity to enroll their children in a curriculum intentionally designed for the all-around development of their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.
  3. Educational Standards:To champion educational excellence within the host community while utilizing progressive functional tools, including computers and audiovisual equipment, to enhance production and learning.

Growth was immediate. By April 22, 1991, the school resumed with 25 pupils on the roll (11 new intakes and 14 returning students). The staff expanded as well, with Miss F.Y. Oyewole joining the pioneer team. Simultaneously, in January 1991, the Elias International Nursery and Primary School Alimosho Annex was founded by the Director, Dr. Engr. Dosunmu. This annex commenced operations with an initial population of six pupils (three boys and three girls) and a small, dedicated team of teachers, including Mr. A.B. Audu and Mr. Ogundairo Tony.

Elias International Secondary School

Building on the success of the primary section, the secondary school commenced operations on January 4, 1993, opening its doors to 34 pioneer JSS1 students (15 boys and 19 girls). Under the leadership of the pioneer principal, Mr. Oyekanmi Festus Fasasi, and a dedicated team of six teaching staff, the school set out to fulfill its core mandate. Since its inception, the secondary arm has been unflinchingly dedicated to imparting knowledge, developing character, and enhancing mental acuity across intellectual, moral, physical, and technological disciplines.
