NEWS LETTER FOR THE END OF THIRD TERM 2018/2019.

The staff, students and management of Elias secondary school jointly thank Almighty God for granting us a successful 2018/2019 session. A big thank you goes to our parents for your support, collaboration, partnership and availability during the various activities, your impact made our goals achieved.

ACTIVITIES

EXTERNAL COMPETITIONS - Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI) organized a competition where our students moved to the final stage and came second. PZ-Chemistry challenge was organized where the students moved to stage 3.

INTERNAL COMPETITION- The students had Mathletics competition, junior and senior category sensational cooking competition, spelling bee and inter-class quiz competition. The winners in each of the competitions were awarded.

EXCURSION/FIELD TRIP - The students visited NAFRIC Oshodi to see the different equipment of Basic-Technology.

The Home-Economics department visited ‘Rapid Bakers’ to have a practical view of mass bread & cake production.

The Agricultural-Science department visited ‘Xtralarge Farm&Groups of Companies’ Ota, which exposed them to Agronomy, Fishery, Poultry, Livestock farming, Rabbit& Grass-cutter rearing etc.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM - The school organized a gender program wherein students were mentored on the ‘Gains and Banes of the internet’.

AWARDS - Eko Academics awarded the school for being ‘A standard Educational pace setter with academic excellence in Lagos State’. AEI awarded the school for an ‘Excellent performanceduring Scholars’ day 2019.

OPEN DAY AND PTIF MEETING - We appreciate parents who made it a duty to attend our Parent Teachers’ Interactive Forum and Open day, as this is part of the activities that bring collaboration between the school and the parents. At the PTIF meeting, major deliberations were on 30th Anniversary, Inter-House sport, Valedictory, vacation school, Students adjusting Uniforms, wrong hairstyle, abuse of social-media, school bus, etc.

INFORMATION

SCHOOL FEES - Kindly check the bills and make prompt payment via Bank deposit (teller), online transfer &POS using the student’s name as depositor.School fees drive will start from first week of resumption, therefore evidence of payment should be made available to the accounts department via personal delivery.Accounts department can be contacted on 08038997788, 08150915271. The school appreciates those interested in per session payment with a 10% discount attached, which should be done on or before resumption.

ADMISSION- Admission into 2019/2020 session has commenced in both primary and secondary school. We are available during the work days in August so tell everyone about us.

HOSTEL FACILITY - The school runs a boarding house which will help busy parents get their children well monitored and cared for.

VACATION SCHOOL - The school will commence on vacation school from 29th July to 24th of August 2019.

Free Special campout for spiritual development (27th – 31st August 2019)

Interested parents should make payment on or before 29th July 2019. Parents interested in the special features should specify the additional feature and pay along with the general N6,000.

TEXT-BOOKS - We all know that a farmer cannot go to the farm without hoe/cutlass, therefore, textbooks are available for purchase in the school bookshop. The list of books has been given so make payment on time to avoid resumption rush and scarcity.

ANNIVERSARY - The school will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in September and it was agreedduring the PTIF meeting that a sum of N3,000 (per parent) should be paid with the school fees for this purpose. We will appreciate support in participation e.g. games and competition for parents to make it a remarkable event.

NEW TIE - As we launch into the fourth decade, the school has embarked on rebranding the school with a new tie. Students are to purchase the new tie before resumption.

INTER-HOUSE SPORT - The school will commence its biennial inter-house sport preparation from next term (Alpha term). A fee of N10,000 has been attached to other bills, kindly pay ahead for proper preparation. The sport festival is one of the highly valued co-curricular activities therefore we will appreciate it if payment is made in the first term.

RESULT CHECKING - The school website is open for everyone to get information about the school, assignment, events, plans etc. The result for third term examination will be available on the school website from Monday 21stof July, parents can view result through the student’s portal using www.eliasschools.com, User ID (SURNAME), Password (Parent’s phone number). SUBMISSION OF HOLIDAY PROJECT - The holiday project is meant to make students academically sound outside the classroom walls, parents should make sure the projects are done before resumption because defaulters will not be allowed into classes.Kindly download the assignments from the assignment page/the project slip given.

RESUMPTION- We are resuming graciously on the 9th of September 2019 for the 2019/2020 session.
